The CryptoCurrency Security Standard is developed and maintained by the CCSS Steering Committee, a group of industry professionals with expertise in cryptocurrency security, custody, auditing, and related technologies.
The CCSS Steering Committee’s mission is to ensure that the Standard remains up to date with industry best practices while maintaining its neutrality. The committee reviews proposed changes, discuss emerging technologies and security risks, considers community feedback, and guides the ongoing development of the Standard.
Updates to CCSS are made through an open standards development process and are released when needed to address changes in the digital asset ecosystem. When a new version is published, accompanying transition guidance helps entities understand how the changes affect future audits and recertifications.
This collaborative approach keeps CCSS practical, technology-neutral, and aligned with the evolving cryptocurrency industry.
